Terms of Sale
These are the terms for buying a hand-knitted ribbon bow from milas.gift. They're short, friendly, and meant to make sure both sides know what to expect.
Who sells these bows
Mila's Gift is run by Mila's parents on her behalf. Mila (age 8) knits each bow by hand; her parents are the legal sellers and are responsible for every commercial aspect of the business: this website, customer communications, payments, packaging, shipping, taxes, and these terms of sale.
It's a small family-run project officially based in the Netherlands. The bunq.me payment account uses a Dutch IBAN; the domain milas.gift is registered with TransIP (NL); the website is hosted on Netlify; and these terms are governed by Dutch law.
Mila's Gift is a hobby and learning project, not a commercial enterprise that exploits a child. Mila's involvement is voluntary, age-appropriate, and intended to teach her about craft, customer care, and earning. Any income is held for Mila to save or spend as she chooses. Her father oversees every operation; she is never asked to handle payments, addresses, complaints, or shipping. When she'd rather play instead of knit, she plays.

What you're buying
Hand-knitted velvet ribbon bows in chunky polyester yarn. Each bow is made one at a time by hand. Sizes, finish, and exact colour can vary slightly from photos — these are unique, not mass-produced. That's the point.
Prices and shipping
Each bow is €1, plus shipping. We confirm the exact shipping cost by email before you pay, based on where it's going. We ship worldwide.
Prices on the site are in euros (EUR) and include any applicable consumer taxes for Dutch buyers. Customs and import duties for non-EU destinations are the buyer's responsibility.
How payment works
- You place an order through the form on milas.gift.
- We email you back within 24 hours to confirm availability and the total (bow + shipping).
- We send you a bunq.me payment link. You pay with your bank — no card needed, no bunq account required.
- Once payment lands, we make and ship your bow within a few days.
No card details ever touch milas.gift. All payments are processed by bunq.
Sending it as a gift
If you're sending a bow as a gift, we ship it directly to the recipient with a small hand-written card containing your message. Your name appears on the card so they know who sent it. The order confirmation, payment, and any returns are still handled by you (the buyer) — not the recipient.
Right of withdrawal (EU buyers)
If you're in the EU, you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving the bow without giving any reason. To exercise this right, just email info@milas.gift within 14 days of delivery and ship the bow back in its original condition.
We refund the price you paid (excluding return shipping) within 14 days of receiving the bow back.
Custom-colour bows and bows with a personalised gift card are made to order specifically for you. Under EU consumer law these are exempt from the right of withdrawal — once we've started knitting, the order is final.
Returns and refunds
Beyond the 14-day withdrawal window, we'll happily replace or refund any bow that arrives damaged, lost in transit, or genuinely not as described. Just email us with a photo within 7 days of delivery.
Because each bow is hand-made by an eight-year-old, small variations in shape, size, or finish are part of the charm — not defects.
Delivery times
We aim to ship within 3–7 days of receiving payment. Delivery to:
- Netherlands: typically 1–3 working days after shipping
- EU: typically 3–7 working days
- Rest of world: 7–21 working days, sometimes longer
These are estimates from the postal service, not guarantees. We're not responsible for postal delays once the bow leaves our hands.
Liability
Mila's Gift sells small handmade decorative items intended for adult buyers and older children. The bows contain small components (knot, threads) — please do not give them to children under 3 as they may pose a choking hazard. Do not use as a hair accessory on infants.
Our total liability for any single order is limited to the amount you paid for that order, except where Dutch law provides for greater protection.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms occasionally. The version that applies to your order is the one published when you placed the order. The date at the top will reflect any updates.
Disputes and applicable law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. If something goes wrong and we can't sort it out by email, you can also raise a complaint via the EU's Online Dispute Resolution platform.
